I. Basic Philosophy

The global environment in which we live is in a state of steady and certain deterioration. In order to enrich the lives of people and enable them to live in safety and with peace of mind, CIPS is committed to the urgent task that falls to us of improving and conserving the environment so that a sustainable Earth can be passed on to future generations.

CIPS has positioned global environmental issues as one of its highest management priorities. To fulfill the Itochu corporate credo gCommitted to the Global Good,h all employees will take concerted action to preserve the environment and contribute extensively to society through corporate activities that are both environmentally friendly and promote economic growth.

II. Basic Policies

CIPS supplies a range of products and provides various after sales services in Japan and overseas, focusing on synthetic resin raw materials and products, and liquid crystal and electronic materials. In order to periodically evaluate the environmental impact caused by these business activities and make continual improvements, CIPS has formulated the following basic environmental preservation policies.

1: Environmental friendliness

All CIPS employees will take environmental action in line with the two following guidelines.

1. Develop an awareness of the environmental impact caused by business activities of the company, as well as by personal lifestyles, and work to reduce that impact.
2. Maintain an awareness of environmental impact in all business transactions, and by working together with customers implement activities that promote environmentally friendly production, distribution, recycling and disposal of products.

2: Compliance with environmental laws and regulations

CIPS will ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations and with other requirements previously agreed upon.

3: Implementation of environmental preservation activities

In the course of its daily business activities, CIPS will proactively implement measures to conserve resources such as reducing energy and resource consumption, and creating recycling systems.

4: Implementation of environmental training and educational programs

In order to implement company-wide environmental preservation activities, it is necessary to raise the environmental awareness of all employees and ensure proper understanding of environmental issues. Based on this thinking, CIPS actively encourages its employees to participate in environmental educational programs. Efforts are also being made to share environmental information with customers and promote activities that are friendly to the global environment.

5: These environmental policies will be documented and distributed to all employees, and made public.
