Providing various kinds of raw materials to various companies in Japan
Synthetic resin is indispensable materials for various products ranging from office automation (OA) devices to household appliances, automobile parts, game machines, and consumer goods. CIPS supplies various kinds of synthetic resin materials to copying machine manufacturers and automobile manufacturers, from general-purpose resins including polypropylene and ABS to engineering plastics/super engineering plastics including nylon and polycarbonate. Approximately 50% of the resin used in copying machines, in particular, is handled by CIPS and the Itochu Group. Our mission is to supply these raw materials to all types of companies in Japan. The needs for the supply of raw materials vary depending on region and supplier industry, thus the business forms are diverse. For example, to meet the needs of small lot production of various products, we provide wholesale services and sell small volumes from our own stock to each business partner. In some cases, to meet the specialized coloring and printing needs of the cosmetics industry, we even participate in the raw material development stage in cooperation with domestic and foreign raw material manufacturers and various specialized companies. In addition, we strive to provide larger scale business through aggressive investment in both domestic and international companies with expertise in each area.
Global business development in cooperation with international bases
Moreover, not limited to domestic business, CIPS cooperates with the Itochu Group's international bases to expand business on a global scale. In addition, we have established our own international bases and are expanding our network mainly in Asia. In each regional base, we sell not only raw materials to local companies but also contribute to the development of international business strategy for domestic business partners by supporting their international expansion, from launch to raw material supply. In the domestic market, the need for overseas raw materials has been increasing in recent years; for example, the cases to import raw materials from China and sell them to domestic business partners are on the rise. Regardless of import or export, CIPS continues to expand its business in a global scale, without being prejudiced by the existing models.
