In the electronic device materials sector, where performance is continually improving, ITOCHU Plastics handles a wide range of cutting-edge functional chemicals and semiconductor-related materials used in IT equipment and mobility-related products, focusing on the three areas of “ICT,” “Mobility,” and “Smart Energy” to help people lead more prosperous lives in the future. As cutting-edge technologies for automated driving, various sensors, and high-definition displays (such as wearable devices with micro-LEDs) rapidly evolve, the market for electronic device materials supporting these technologies is also currently expanding on a global scale. ITOCHU Plastics is committed to exploring these possibilities and becoming the leading group of electronics specialists of our time.
ITOCHU Plastics has also established new sales bases by utilizing our own overseas bases and the ITOCHU Group’s global network.
We are expanding our sales channels to China, South Korea, Taiwan, other Southeast Asian countries, as well as North America, Europe, and the rapidly developing country of India. We also promote our business globally through various activities such as strengthening the supply chain at each of our bases.

Another one of our core pillars is the supply of semiconductor materials, which are indispensable for electronic devices.
In addition to handling conventional silicon semiconductor materials, ITOCHU Plastics is promoting the supply of compound semiconductors, which are indispensable for next-generation electronic devices. We will also actively develop materials for new sectors in the future, including materials for high-performance semiconductors for industries that require various cutting-edge technologies, such as automotive, AI (artificial intelligence), and communication systems.
From an SDGs perspective, compound semiconductors are also attracting attention as an environmentally friendly material because they help save energy due to their characteristics of generating less heat than conventional semiconductors. Furthermore, through handling energy-saving commercial products such as power semiconductors, we aim to achieve a sustainable society and at the same time promote carbon neutrality through environmentally friendly initiatives.
