ENVIRONMENT POLICY
Basic philosophy
Global environmental issues such as global warming are problems that affect the survival of the human race..
This is an urgent task placed on us to leave a better Earth to the next generation, where people can live in prosperity, safety, and peace of mind. We consider global environmental issues to be one of the most important issues in our management policy. We also follow our corporate philosophy, of “adding convenience and comfort to people’s lives with reliable materials.” In order to realize our corporate philosophy of “providing reliable materials that add convenience and comfort to people’s lives, fostering a corporate culture of integrity and fairness, and growing together with people,” we will continue to promote corporate activities that balance a better global environment and economic growth by providing reliable materials, and all of our employees will work together to conserve the environment and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
Behavioral guidelines
We provide convenience and comfort to people’s lives not only through domestic transactions but also through import/export transactions, focusing on packaging material-related products, synthetic resin raw materials, and electronic materials. In the course of our activities as a trading company, we regularly assess our environmental impact, set and review environmental targets, continuously improve our environmental management system, prevent environmental pollution and harmful effects on the environment, and establish the following behavioral guidelines for environmental preservation.

1.Consideration for the environment
We shall acknowledge our environmental impact and strive to prevent environmental pollution and harmful effects on the environment.

2.Compliance with environmental laws and regulations
We will comply with all environmental laws, regulations, and rules, as well as those to which we have agreed upon as a company.

3.Promotion of environmental preservation activities
We will strive to engage in activities as a trading company that propose more environment-friendly manufacturing, distribution, recycling, and disposal of products, keeping in mind their environmental impact, and contribute to the protection of the ecosystem and the realization of carbon neutrality through the conservation of resources, such as “energy and resource conservation,” and the formation of a recycling-oriented society.

4.Coexistence with society
As good corporate citizens, we wish to contribute to the prosperity of the next generation and society, and together with the ITOCHU Group, we will support research and other activities aimed at preserving the global environment.

5.Promotion of awareness-raising activities
We actively promote awareness-raising activities for employees based on the idea that each employee should enhance their own awareness of the environment and properly understand environmental issues. Furthermore, we will call on our stakeholders to be considerate of the global environment by providing them with information as needed.
These environmental policies shall be documented and distributed to all employees, and also made public.

Environmental initiatives
Since we do not manufacture products, our activities that have direct environmental impact are limited. However, we recognize that the use and disposal of chemical products are factors of environmental pollution, and we regard compliance with laws and regulations as a part of our environmental preservation efforts, and we are promoting activities to indirectly reduce environmental impact by establishing and utilizing a system to ensure compliance with laws and legal requirements in the handling of our products.
On February 23, 1999, we became one of the first trading companies in ITOCHU Corporation to obtain ISO 14001 certification, the international standard for environmental management. Since then, by operating the environmental management system that we established in accordance with the requirements of the standard, we have been continuously working to improve the environmental awareness of all executives and employees and to incorporate the perspective of global environmental preservation into our corporate activities.
